I just watched the trailer, and I'm going to have to recant some of what I said up above. In fact, the screen shots do not do the game justice. The trailer for the game showcases it waaaaaaaaaaay better. The story and gameplay look really, really solid. You know how you could careless if it's in english and you get that amped feeling in your gut like you desperately want to know what's going on? Yeah you get that with the trailer...Looks fantastic...I'm ignoring these pics.
Star Ocean 4 was never announced for either platform. Square may have been waiting to see which of the two consoles would be successful first. Yet I can't say that assuming it would come to the PS3 wasn't a safe or smart bet. Damn I can't believe it's all in game, except the close up shots of the two characters. You can see jaggies on the dragon, look the trees where she aiming her bow and arrow at that creature. Who, does not look CGI at all. Impressive...
on the 360 is the perfect example of the difference between it and Last Remanant. This looks like a dedicated team went after the console and attacked it to achieve something truly stunning. I've never seen an rpg look this good, and I have a feeling that's the same reason Square is taking their time with FF on the PS3.
I also made the comment too that this seems like the Jrpg version of Mass Effect. Perhaps they saw what Bioware was able to achieve and wanted something similar....
Tells me the reason this game looks this way is due to the PS3 development. This Rpg was one of the first titles Square announced for the next generation as a multiplatform title. Add the fact that they are using the UE3 engine. We know that developers have had a hard time creating multiplatform games, usually the PS3 version lagging behind. Unless they have two dedicated teams, which I doubt. I believe they wanted both systems to be on par with one another. Which may be evident with the titl...
Was never meant to be on the Xbox 360. The only titles that Square announced were Last Remanant and the collaboration/publishing of Tri-Ace s IU (Infinite Undiscovery). Star Ocean 4 was announced way back for the PS3. I don't know exactly what happened between now and then for it to be on the Xbox 360, and become a timed exclusive at that.
My guess is that seeing Mistwalker do fairly well with it's RPG titles, especially with what Lost Oddessey was able to do outside of Jap...
They have got to do something with their marketing of the sports category that's what it really is. The games do need some work in areas, but for the most part, 2k is the best sports studio.
See the power of the console then he'll be wrong...But when multiplatform titles perform better on the box, it's hard to see why he's wrong. I'm not agreeing with him, I just want to see real true proof of the PS3.
You are more than correct. You have to understand that no one who disagrees with him is arguing the logic of his position. Shane has stated just like Nintendo did that they are two distinct focuses for their respective companies. Sony and Microsoft are the most alike in strategy. At the moment Microsoft is winning in that regard. You can take a look at global sales for an indication of the health of the systems, but losing in that regard is subjective. Especially when the sales difference is ...
Demos should be released the day the game is out. That way it is more close/final of what is represented. That way a developer/publisher may not have the best first week sales, but can create momentum for a product going forward. With the nature of games and demos, people will play them if they are there. I've played games in demo form because I knew I'd never purchase them otherwise. Besides it's alot smarter and the resources aren't different allowing the demo to be a good focus. Actually I...
Epic is going for longevity with the multiplayer aspects, and this also lends credence to the game being 5 times longer than the first. You have to respect a company that tries to put their best foot forward every time they step out. Show's commitment and to have a title this megaton ready is truly a testament of how much they give a damn. It's clear they want to make those who purchased the first title satisfied, and bring in new players for the long haul.
I decided to get back into Gears 1. I can not wait for part 2! Who ever the new characters are (especially the one with the shield) looks like a cool character to play with. I'm going with the general at any moment he's playable. "Pheonix I expect 110% out of you!" ...
Game looks like it will be a blast to play. I can see this on a big screen, hi def tv just making sick jumps and tricks...Could be a real fun sleeper of a game.
both his point and others who have made comments. I think we've been conditioned to think that war has to have muted palate. Yet that is again like someone said artistic direction. If you take a look at footage from WW2 and for instance Vietnam. You will see that war takes place under all types of conditions; day, night, afternoon, early morning, etc. If you are in a rain forest in the middle of the day with sunshine out on a battlefield, why should the palate be muted? In fact taking a look ...
Can't wait for E3...It's games like this that make this year really solid for the Xbox 360. Not exclusives. It's all about the sleepers. Cause an rpg like this can score really well with gamers and reviewers. We've seen by the Lost Odd #'s that a solid Rpg will sell on the Xbox 360...Really look forward to this.
I'm impressed...If this game is solid like Lost Odd. Then the Xbox 360 is the current king for JRPG's for this generation. There was no way I would have said that coming into this generation. I've commented on this game three times already...Needless to say...I want it...lol
I didn't expect this game to be that close. This for me (I'm speaking for myself haters). Makes the Xbox 360 hands down the better line-up of 2008. If this is a solid JRPG like Lost Odd. Say hello to the bad guy...
I see of this game, the more I like it. It's surprising to me that you can make a strong argument for the Xbox 360 being the console for JRPGs at this moment. Yet it's not making a dent in Japan. Lost Odd was a joy to play honestly.
I have to give the Xbox 360 lots of credit at this point in time. They have done enough for people not to hate, and purchase the system. Fine they had some issues with RROD, but Sony had issues with the PS2 and its optical lens. I say all this to say ...
Played either title? I have not, and I will refrain from talking about LBP, because I understand that what they are doing is ambitious. Yet again, my point for Banjo would be the same for LBP. These games fundamentally ask the player to experiment giving them tools. There will be some players who are going to do great things, while others will have to continue to create something of substance. I'd bet you a good paycheck that if they released a demo of LBP you will hear the same comments. <...
